What is the best toothbrush available for purchase?

Almost daily practice of dentistry my patients ask me to name the best toothbrush on the market.  My answer never varies, it is the Oral B series of electric toothbrushes.

I have kept this line of toothbrushes exclusively at my office for the past 8 years because they are proven through scientific trial and error to be superior in plaque and gingivitis reduction to manual toothbrushes.

There are 2 mechanisms of action that drive the electric brushes from Oral B.  The brush heads both oscillate and rotate at the simultaneously. Plaque accumulation on the teeth adjacent to the gum tissue left over time causes gingivitis to begin. Gingivitis left untreated can advance to periodontal disease.   When placed at the junction between  the tooth neck and gum tissue, the rotating and vibrating action cleans away the plaque with extreme effectiveness.  The gum tissues and teeth are left in a clean, vibrant state.

The best toothbrush is further advanced by several accessories that come with each product.

1.  Brush Heads  A substantial selection of toothbrush heads are available for most any need.  Some of the different heads are used for Orthodontics, polishing, extra soft cleaning and floss action performance.  The floss action head has the ability to reach deeper into the proximal surfaces between the teeth for better plaque removal. Flossing, however, still is necessary.

2.  Rechargeable battery  This brush travels well and has a very long battery life. The charge holds well over time lasting up to a couple weeks.  This toothbrush is designed to be stored on its holder for most effective use.

3.  Brushing Timer  A large contingent of dental professionals feel it takes approximately 2 minutes of thorough brushing to clean the mouth of plaque and food debris.  The Oral B electric toothbrush line comes with a vibration alert, audible beep and a visible timer to help maintain proper awareness of time when cleaning the teeth.

In addition to the data provided by clinical trials regarding the Oral B electric toothbrushes vs. manual brushes, I have over 8 years of experience in my own dental practice observing plaque levels and gingivitis levels of patients that use manual and those that use the best toothbrush.  The Oral B electric brushes prove themselves to be far superior at cleaning teeth. My hygienist thoroughly probes and evaluates ever aspect of the gum tissue and confirms the power cleansing ability of the oral B in real life observations.

If you wish to have improved oral hygiene, make the switch today to the Oral B line of electric toothbrushes.  Science has proven there is a significant correlation between oral health and systemic health.
